ELEVEN MILE STATE PARK (Memorial Day Weekend 2007)

We booked Eleven Mile State Park for Memorial Day Weekend 2007. Eleven Mile is a huge recreation area. We chose a remote campground loop named Witcher's Cove on the far side of the lake.

Our loop was quiet since it only had spaces for five campers. That's us second from the right. No trees at Eleven Mile.

The kids and Dad went for a bike ride to the neighboring loop. Most of the campgrounds are off a dirt road with dirt sites, so we ate our share of dust when cars drove by us on the main road.

Cameron and Dad usually take some time on every camping trip to play catch.

Sometimes Dad throws the ball a little high.

The unfortunate thing about Eleven Mile are the bugs. May Flies swarmed us for much of the day except for early mornings, so we spent more time than usual inside our camper. Here is Courtney cleaning up the Monopoly board after an intense game with her brother and sister.

Courtney spent some time sewing some mini pillows. This sewing kit was a birthday gift from her friend Lauren.

More time inside the camper, the kids played Chinese Checkers.

We ended up spending only one night at Eleven Mile due to the "buggy" conditions. That combined with the 10 miles of dirt roads to get to our site was enough for us to leave early. We have only said this once before (Jackson Lake State Park...the rattlesnake), but we will probably not return to Eleven Mile State Park.
