MUELLER STATE PARK
(July 30, 2005) |
The 2005 Rocky Mountain Outbacker Rally was held at
beautiful Mueller State Park near Divide, CO. We booked site 123 six
months in advance for this special event. It is a little difficult to
set up on (note the presence of the large tree 3 inches from Outback), but
the campsite views make it well worth it.
Our screen room kept the bugs away for all three days.
We also erected our EZ-UP canopy over the tent pad area for additional
shade. During the Saturday night BBQ, we placed all the food on a
table underneath.
We had seven families (including one family who had never
heard of Outbackers.com) attend the Rally. Left to right is Drifter,
Salman, Castle Rock Outbackers, GenesRUs, new outbackers, Parker Outbacker,
and Roxborough Ski Man. Look at all the kids (and dogs)!
On site 123's long driveway we set up a badminton /
volleyball net for the kids to play with. Seen here is the traditional
"boys vs. girls" matchup.
Parker Outbacker had the honor of owning the largest
Outback at the Rally, the 28 RSDS. Complimentary guided tours were
given upon request.
Parker Outbacker and Roxborough Ski Man discuss the
advanced technology employed by the Outback's suspension system. The
possibility of "flipping the axles" was likely considered as well.
After completing their suspension assessment, Parker showed Roxborough his
Quickie Flush installation.
Roxborough Ski Man and his wife enjoy a cool beverage
while keeping a close eye on their friendly dog.
The Saturday evening BBQ / party was enjoyed by all.
The kids watched a movie in our bunk room while the adult men talked about
modifying the Outback plumbing systems, tow vehicle horsepower and towing
ratings, the benefits of higher axle ratios, and just how happy we are to
own one of the finest campers available for purchase today. The ladies
mostly rolled their eyes and laughed at the men.
Courtney and Kendal enjoyed a game of horseshoes on our
campsite. The 2005 Rocky Mountain Outbacker Rally was enjoyed by all,
and we look forward to meeting everyone again soon...whether in the
mountains or online.
