MUELLER STATE PARK (August 25, 2007)

We visited our all-time fourth favorite campground in late August and as usual, Mueller State Park is a guaranteed great trip. We decided to grab site 4 in the secluded Peak View loop.  We like Peak View because there are only 5 sites in the loop and no sites across to block your view.

The other great thing about site 4 is the private cul-de-sac that allows the kids to ride their bikes without needing to watch for traffic.

Cameron chose the entire menu for this trip. Lea and Kendal enjoy brownies for dessert on Friday night.

Hanging out by the fire until it gets dark. Then star-gazing and ghost stories.

We hiked the 3-mile Homestead Trail on Saturday morning.

Courtney and Cameron get ready for a bike ride.

We found a new climbing gym at the Camper Services Center.

Let's hope Courtney eventually loses her love for pole dancing.

Kendal has always been a monkey on the bars.

Beer always tastes better at 9,700 feet.

Hanging out under the awning on Saturday afternoon. The kids all chose Powerball numbers for the $315,000,000 jackpot drawing. We purchased 20 lines but only won $3 (one of Melea's lines hit the Powerball). Someone in Indiana holds the winning ticket. Can you imagine? $315 million!

Lea is seen roughing it while camping...as she reads Sierra Magazine, sips a glass of wine, and lounges on the queen bed.

Kendal and Carly rest in the shade together. Zero bugs at Mueller.

Courtney located a BIG dandelion while hiking around the campground. Mueller State Park never disappoints us. We'll be back year after year.
