DENVER RV SHOW (January 9 - 12, 2008)

Lea and I attended the 2008 Denver RV show on Saturday morning, January 12.  The Outbacks were front and center right at the entrance, so they got attention all day long. What a sweet new logo and aggressive front end on this fifth wheel.

I wonder if we are looking at some new Outbackers?

If money is no object and you want to coolest camper ever made, you can put down $45,000 on a little AirStream trailer.

This Chipotle-on-wheels was priced near $70,000. And that is the show price. AirStreams are usually not discounted.

Not a lot of space, but plenty of cool.

Every year the owner of Trailer World in Denver offers a brand new camper for under $10,000. The larger pop-up tent trailers usually cost more than $10,000. That is the draw on this camper...you don't have to settle for a pop-up tent trailer if your budget is limited.

The Coyote line of camper trailers are built for small families.

The interior of this fifth wheel was unique. We had never before seen a faux stone accent wall inside a camper.

Here is a Lance truck camper sitting on a Ford F-350 dually. A little overkill in my opinion regarding the truck to camper ratio, but then again, a Ford F-250 would probably struggle carrying such a big heavy truck camper. Doh!

This is an example of the modifications required to your Ford truck if you want to tow a camper...any camper. Alternatively, if you already own a Chevy / GMC truck that is stock from the factory, you are good to go.

This fifth wheel deserved the Best in Show award in my opinion. As you can see, the rear of the camper slides out on both sides. Guess what part of the living space is in the rear of this camper? See next picture.

The rear living space of this Kingston fifth wheel is a kids apartment! Through each door is a couch, a bunk, a dresser, and a TV stand. So that is two couches that fold flat into beds, two bunk beds, two dressers, and two TV stands. What is in between these two areas? Would you believe a jack-and-jill half bathroom? The vanity sink is right behind the wall where the LCD is mounted, and the toilet is behind another door at then end of the trailer. So cool.

Lea thought this was a great kitchen.

Here is another good-looking kitchen.

Yet another nice kitchen. This one even has hanging pendant lights.

Montana claims to sell the most fifth wheels in its class. We do see a lot of Montana's when we are on the road.

Instead of a fold-out outside cooktop like we have on our 2004 Outback, most manufacturers now offer slide-out outside cooktops.

Here is a Raptor toy hauler showing how the bunks beds take the place of toys after they are removed.

Love those triple axles on the Raptors.

We had never seen a Seville fifth wheel before. Neat front-end cap.

I don't know...that is a pile of money for a camper you can't stand up in. I never see these on the road.

Same goes for this camper. Neat, but a bunch of money.

For all the Toyota guys, here is a nice-looking Tundra.
