YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK (August 2 - 10, 2008) |
|
|
Our longest and
most exciting camping trip of 2008 was to Yellowstone National Park. What an amazing place this is. The several pages that follow will detail the best family camping trip we experienced over 5 years of camping. Ironically, our best camping trip would be our last camping trip in our 2004 Outback 26 RS. On our way home, we talked about camping after Yellowstone...where would we go next? After some thought and reflection, we realized that we have camped everywhere we wanted to in Colorado and the surrounding states. After 44 camping trips in 5 years, we decided to end our trailer camping days. What a great way to go out, yes?

A quick pit-stop in
Shoshoni, WY to use the facilities...in the Outback.

Another break for a
snack at a rest stop on our way to Casper, WY.

|
Wyoming is known
for constant, annoying winds. It did not disappoint.

Our campsite at the
KOA in Casper, WY.

The Casper KOA has

And a pool!

The Wyoming scenery
gets better and better as you get closer to Yellowstone.

More great scenery
on our way to Yellowstone. Melea shot these photos from our moving truck.

|
Our base camp
during our stay at Yellowstone was at the
Grizzly RV Park in
West Yellowstone, MT.
|
|
|
We reserved a
premium site complete with water, electric, and sewer (100% full hookups).
We were the only trailer in this section of the park. Class A buses and
5th-wheels surrounded us. Only the best for Outbackers.
